Kindergarten to 12th grade Smart Cycling We’d all like to see more kids riding to school or just out riding for fun. Modelled on the adult level LAB Smart Cycling this class ensures every kid on a bike has the necessary techniques, knowledge and awareness to ride safely on the streets. After some classroom-based theory and basic bike mechanics, students can go through a series of parking lot drills focused on essential rules of the road, safety, traffic awareness and lane-changing, before moving on to carefully supervised on-street riding. The goal is to instill the confidence and ability to safely handle any pedal-powered commute. Typically, this is a multi-day commitment, normally 1-2 hrs a week running 6-12 weeks for optimum reinforcement. We can tailor this to the size and skill levels of your group.
